Nippon Connection Film Special at Japan Week
November 5 – 12, 2011
Frankfurt am Main
In order to shorten the wait for the twelfth Japanese Film Festival Nippon Connection, we would like to invite you to our Nippon Connection Film Special. This program will be presented in the cinema venue of the German Film Museum during the Japan Week event. In honor of the 150th anniversary of German-Japanese friendship, the program will focus on intercultural dialogue. Filmmakers will present their films and then invite the audience to join an animated post-viewing discussion. Accompanying films by German directors focussing on Japan and films by Japanese directors who produced their films in Germany, will be two graduate films from the Tokyo University of the Arts. The university, located in Frankfurt‘s new sister city Yokohama, is known for being one of Japan‘s most important talent pools. Finally, with great anticipation, we also look forward to the world premier of the documentary film RADIOACTIVISTS, which comments on both the post-Fukushima-protest culture and the current anti-nuclear movement.
